Tea Time
Years ago, my mom, grandma, sister and I went and had tea at a little tea place in Long Beach called Elise's Tea Room. To my surprise, I really enjoyed it and especially loved all the finger sandwiches. We would also have tea around Christmas time that a local Camp Fire group would host--we would bring gifts for children who were in the hospital and enjoy tea at the same time! Recently, we went back to Elise's Tea Room and this time, brought Riley & Amelia along! Riley enjoyed the scones and finger sandwiches, also. Just like mommy! We hope that we'll be able to go and have tea more often, we all enjoy it too much!
Happy 21st Birthday, Ruben!
On June 3rd, Ruben officially turned 21! It was a long day and night for him, to say the least. Right when he got off work, Jc (One of Ruben's dads) took him to the bar for his 1st drink(s). From what I heard, he had a couple beers and a round of shots from people in the bar! Apparently, people get really excited for 21st birthdays. After he got home from that, Uncle Joe (Paige's uncle) took Ruben out bar hopping. He had planned this for a month, and was super excited about it! The bar hoppers included Uncle Joe, Ruben, April (Paige's sister), Brandon (Paige's brother in law), Christina (Ruben's mom) and me. We went to a few bars in the Long Beach/Lakewood Area; Thirsty Isle, Flight Room, Snug Harbor, and Tracy's Bar & Grill. We all had a good time and it was nice to spend Ruben's big day with close family.
Of course, no 21st birthday is complete without a trip to Vegas! We (Ruben, Jc, Christina, Carissa, Riley and I) went from June 10th to the 13th and stayed at the MGM Signature hotel. We were also celebrating Ruben's mom turning 40! We got into Vegas around noon on Friday and went straight to the outlets for some shopping! We checked into the hotel around 3 and went to walk the Miracle Mile shops inside Planet Hollywood. We had lunch, took some shots, and went back to the hotel to rest and get ready for the night. Since we were also celebrating Christina's birthday, some of her and Jc's friends came to Vegas also. We all went out that night (which wouldn't have been possible for Ruben & I if auntie Carissa didn't come along to watch Riley) to a club called Vanity in the Hard Rock Hotel. The next day, we hung out by the pool at the MGM hotel while Ruben played in his 1st Vegas tournament at Caesar's Palace. That night Carissa took a flight back home since she had to work on Monday :( Sunday was also spent by the pool, and I also went and walked around with Ruben's mom at the Forum Shops inside Caesar's Palace and to the Louis Vuitton store to pick up her birthday present! Riley loved the pool and she was very popular with all the people there :) We all had a really good time and can't wait to go back for Paige's 21st!
