Easter 2012

Another whirlwind weekend of Easter events! Easter Saturday was spent with Ruben's grandma (mom's side) and family at Parnell Park in Whittier. They had their annual pot luck and Easter egg hunt, along with a birthday celebration for Jason (Ruben's cousin) who turned 4! Riley had tons of fun running around and playing on the play ground. She outlasted her nap by 4 hours! We opened Easter baskets, ate and played games. Aside from the heat, it was a relaxing family day.

 Easter Sunday was spent with my mom's side of the family (the Guerras), Ruben's dad's side (the Ramirez family) and Ruben's mom's side (the Villas). It was a busy day, going from house to house. Our first stop was my grandparents' house, where we ate and had a mini Easter egg hunt for the babies. The eggs, however, didn't have anything inside them. All they wanted to do was throw them around anyway! We opened Easter baskets from Gigi and Riley's Nina & Nino (my sister & brother-in-law) and we gave Amelia the Easter basket we made her. Our 2nd stop of the day was Ruben's grandparents' house. We ate a little more there and Riley took a small nap. Much needed for her! Ruben also tried to get Riley to run/walk on the treadmill which was a little amusing. She liked it! Our final stop of the day was Ruben's great grandma's house, where we visited with Ruben's mom's side of the family that we don't get to see as often. They also had an Easter egg hunt and Riley found a few eggs but was more interested in the jelly beans that were inside! Exhausted, we ended our Easter day relaxing at home.

 Easter morning Riley woke up and found her 2 baskets from the Easter Bunnies. She got so excited seeing all the things inside them and watched her new Yo Gabba Gabba DVD she got right away. She was one happy baby!
