CHRISTMAS EVE
Christmas Eve was spent with Ruben's grandpa Joe and my mom's side of the family. We went to Grandpa Joe's house around 3 and ate and spent time with him, his wife, and Uncle Phil & family. We exchanged presents with everyone and just hung out and relaxed for the rest of the time there. This year, we gave all the great grandparents a framed picture of Riley! Grandparents love getting pictures. :) After, we went to Gigi's house (my mom) and spent the rest of the evening with the Guerras. Since we don't see my mom on Christmas Day, Riley opened all her presents from her Gigi and GJ, auntie Carissa and her Nina and Nino that night. Boy, did we have a lot of presents to take home with us! Usually at our house, with Ruben's parents, we open majority of the presents at midnight and save a few for the next morning. This year everyone must've been super sleepy from all the tamales because we all ended up falling asleep! Santa is supposed to come while we're sleeping anyways, right?
CHRISTMAS DAY
Christmas morning we opened presents at our house with Ruben's parents. Riley ended up getting a lot of modern day "old school" toys from her Grama and Papie which was pretty cool because I hadn't seen toys like that in a while. Daddy got Riley a Mickey Mouse stuffed animal to go with her Minnie Mouse one and Mommy just bought her a bunch of clothes (and gave them to her early), like always. I didn't feel the need to go all out this year and get Riley a bunch of presents when she had everything she needed already. After presents, we went to church and got ready to go to Ruben's grandma Rachel's house and open presents with everyone there. Then we went to Ruben's dad's house and opened presents there as well. Whirlwind Christmas, to say the least. Riley got a lot of presents this year, and we're thankful for everyone who got her and us something. But most of all, we were thankful just to be able to spend time with everyone for the holiday season.
