I know I've been terrible at updating our family events this month... must be the heat! I'm in the process of writing up a June update but I wanted to quickly do a BABY UPDATE for everyone who doesn't already know what baby Ramirez #2 is gonna be!
First I'll start by saying baby is healthy and their growth is on the right track, so far so good! I'm measuring a week behind my due date (October 24th) but I'm positive this will be another early baby. For those that didn't know, Riley was 3 weeks early :) Although, I'm not sure her Dr. had the correct due date. I've been going in to see the OB about every 2 weeks because of a hematoma that developed behind the placenta back in April. I've had a few ultrasounds since then to check on it and it seems to be going away slowly. Thank you, Jesus!
When I found out that Riley was going to be a girl, I had an ultrasound at the Dr's office and brought Ruben (of course), my mom and Ruben's mom along to share the big news with first. There were only 3 other people allowed to go with me, otherwise I would've invited a lot more! This time around, my sister gave me the idea of doing a "gender reveal cake". I LOVED the idea! The way we did it; my sister accompanied me to my ultrasound and brought along an index card and an envelope. We told the ultrasound technician that we wanted to know what the gender was, but wanted her to write it down on the index card and put it inside the envelope so that we could give it to a baker. Then we took the envelope to the Vons bakery and told them that we wanted a cake made, and according to what the gender was, we wanted the coordinating color frosting inside so that when we cut into the cake we would find out if we were having a BOY or a GIRL. It was hard to explain all these different things to so many people, but eventually everyone understood. We picked up the cake right before Ruben got off work and brought it back home where so we all (Ruben, Riley, April, Brandon, Amelia, Christina, JC, Gina, Jack, Justin and I) could find out at the same time!
And now for the reveal...
PINK frosting means another GIRL!!!!
I'm not going to lie, I was hoping for a boy... who doesn't want a boy and a girl? But now that the idea of having 2 little princesses running around together has sunk in, I'm so excited! Especially now that Riley will have another BFF to confide in when they get older :)
HOORAY for more hair bows and tutus!!!!
