Disneyland on Memorial Day

Since it was Memorial Day, Ruben had the day off (AKA a 3 day weekend) so we decided to go to Disneyland as a family! It was the first time we all went together, so it was exciting :) We got up early and went out to breakfast at Coco's and then headed over to the Happiest Place on Earth! When we first got there we headed over to Tomorrowland; Riley and I had been there a few times or more without Ruben and I've taken her on a few rides a couple times so we decided to go somewhere she hasn't been yet. There is a rocket ride (forgot the actual name) that goes around in circles, similar to the Dumbo ride in Fantasyland, that Ruben & Riley went on first. Riley was super anxious in line and could hardly sit still and wait for her turn! She was so excited to get in her rocket with Daddy, I think she may have had different feelings once the ride started. After that, we headed over to Fantasyland to see what ride we should get on next. Fantasyland has a lot of the movie rides where the ride takes you through scenes from the movie. It also has the longest lines, and Riley never cared for those rides, so we skipped that section and headed over to It's a Small World. Along the way, we stopped and got yummy frozen strawberry lemonade and I let Riley have a sandwich and goldfish I packed. She started looking like she was ready for a nap so we sat in the shade for a while to see if she would go to sleep...she didn't, of course! We were going to wait in line for It's a Small World but with the heat, the long line and Riley getting restless we decided to try a different one. We headed over to Frontierland where we waited in line for Pirates of the Caribbean! Always my favorite :) The first time Riley went on Pirates of the Caribbean was when she was 4 months old, and her pregnant Nina held her the entire time! This was her 4th or 5th time on the ride and she was more hesitant than normal. She sat on Mommy & Daddy's lap and held both of our hands the entire ride. Near the ride's exit, there was a caricature area where they painted the pictures after sketching them, instead of using pastels! The pictures on display were so cute, we had to get Riley's done! Watching the guy sketch her was probably my favorite part of the day, and I absolutely LOVE how her picture came out. If you want to check it out, it's located near the Blue Bayou Cafe. Surprisingly, after her caricature was finished, we had been at Disneyland for almost 4 hours! And we only went on 2 rides? Ha ha ha. Riley started getting cranky so we decided to walk around the shops on Main Street and then we were going to leave. She fell asleep as we were walking out and I was hungry so we stopped at Downtown Disney to get some Jamba Juice and I had a chicken caesar salad at Napolini. Then we got on the tram and headed back home. If it hadn't been so hot, or crowded, that day we definitely would've stayed longer. But with being pregnant and trying to console a cranky child that only wanted you to hold her, I definitely was ready to go home and take a nap! Until our next adventure...

I didn't take as many pictures as I hoped, but here are a few that I did get...
Mommy's favorite trading pin!
Ready for Mickey!
Daddy & Riley on the tram to Disneyland
Daddy trying to entertain Riley while waiting for the rocket ride
Almost your turn little girl!
Ready for take off!
The yummiest frozen strawberry lemonade! Perfect for the hot day
Glad the guy didn't sketch her face like that... LOL
Riley's caricature drawing before color! So cute :)
After color!!!
I don't know what's going on with her facial expression, but that was what she picked out with the $ Grama & Papie gave her
